Family Groups – Get out of that studio…!
Some pictures from a recent family portrait shoot…of Leigh, Lisa and their daughter Hannah out for a walk in local woods.
A lot of family group type portrait shoots take place in a studio. Sit the family down in front of a bland white back drop and go through a number of different ‘poses’ using various props that may or may not have any relevance to those sitting for the pictures. It can all get a little bland and a little too clinical. But take that same shoot out of the studio and into an area that the family are familiar with, doing an activity that they are used to doing can be far better. Producing more relaxed and natural pictures that create more memories of a time in the lives of those sitting for the pictures.
Pictures that have more meaning to those individuals and as a result they have a far stronger emotional connection to them.
